About Foley Racing
Doug Foley, a 20-year veteran of Drag Racing and the owner of Doug Foley's Drag Racing School, the largest school in the U.S., started competing in the Sportsman classes where he finished third in Super Comp in 1994. In 1996 he moved up to the Top Alcohol Dragster ranks with his first win in only his second season with many final rounds to follow.
In 2000 Doug Foley, along with good friend and long time racer Tim Lewis, formed Foley and Lewis Racing. They continued to compete in Alcohol Dragster through the 2003 season where they finished #9 in National Point Standings and #2 in division 1, picking up two wins on their way.
In 2004 Foley and Lewis moved up to the Top Fuel ranks where Doug was named Pro Rookie of the Year and his crew chief, Doug Kuch, was named Crew Chief of the Year. He quickly progressed through the ranks, arriving at the pinnacle of drag racing in 2007 and quickly earning the nickname "The Giant Killer" for his epic battles with many of the top NHRA racers.
In 2009 Doug sold one of his Top Fuel operations to the Dote family from Upstate New York, a family that has been racing for many years with the desire to own a top fuel operation. After hiring Doug to manage the team and building a relationship with him, the family entered into a long term agreement to have Doug be the driver of their Top Fuel Dragster.
